Best advise you can get....I notice you joined in Feb 2006 so I am going to make the asumption that the game is new....

Advise: Don't worry about the money yet. It will come. Just play the game for the fun and follow the story line. Salvage everything you find and stock up on materials. Once you get a stack of 250 just sell them off.

Once you finish the game with one character start thinking of big money then. Start reading the W forum (since your a W/E) and you will find many farming threads that will help you make some money.

Hmm... well what I do is sell all the stuff I don't need as soon as possible so that as I travel and fight I can stock up on more and sell again. Also when you get dye, don't sell it to the merchant. You can get a lot more by selling it to other players. Don't sell any less than 200! Especially black and silver. Hope this helps.

Actually works out well. if your not worried about your cash and just play to play you will gain money and it wont even be an issue unless you go and blow it all on weapons people are selling.

Those that say to forget the cash aspect are right.

The other day I was just randomly running around Pre with my Ranger and before I knew it I had 2.3k.

If you just forget about the money, and play the game through, you'll find yourself the proud holder of a nice little nest egg.

Yeah this works really well. If you spend a decent amount of time in each portion, without getting runs and such you can get

Presearing: 1-2k
Old Ascalon: 2-3k
Northern Shiverpeaks:3-4k

The rate goes up in a similar fasion.

Too many people rush through the beginning, and after having Droknar's armor and max weapons they can't even use wonder why they don't have any money.
